Search And Rescue Technician II / Fundamentals Of Search And Rescue March 4, 5, & 6 and 18, 19 & 20.
SARTECH II Certification Test – March 26, 2011
The NASAR (National Association For Search And Rescue) Fundamentals Of Search And Rescue (FUNSAR) is the national training course for certification as SEARCH & RESCUE TECHNICIAN II (SARTECH II). SARTECH II is NIMS complient and is the standard operational level of training recognized nationally and in Arizona by the Sheriff’s SAR teams. Many of our Ground Team Leaders and Members have attained their SARTECH II certification.
SARTECH II certification is not required to be a Civil Air Patrol Ground Team Member. The SARTECH II training increases your personal, and the Ground Teams, capabilities and promotes CAPs interoperability with other SAR organizations.
SARTECH II training and skills testing meets (and in most cases exceeds) CAP GTM 3 & 2 requirements. CAP members completing SARTECH II (plus UDF and First Aid) will exceed the SQTR skills requirements for GTM 3 & 2. So this is a great way to fast track GTM 3 & 2 qualifications. Kind of like going to NESA, without having to fly to Indiana.
Cost of the training course, textbook, national certification test, and certificate will be approximately:
$225 for NASAR Members
$255 for Non-NASAR Members
(You can join NASAR at the class and receive a discount on the membership fee and pay the member price for the class.)
Please see the attached training announcement with full details. Please seriously consider taking advantage of this opportunity to increase your SAR professional skills and to train and work with members of our neighboring SAR agencies
Dallas C. Lane, Captain CAP
AZWG Search And Rescue Officer/
Wing Director Of Ground Operations
